The Princeton Rendering 1

A developer is planning to build a new 228 unit apartment complex in College Park along Princeton St the College Park Paper is reporting.

The new building is called The Princeton and would be located where Princeton St and Smith St split just east of Edgewater [GMap].

The article notes that the development would not replace the existing strip that houses Tijuana Flats, CVS and other businesses, but they would improve the facade and the parking lot for that strip.

The complex itself will be five stories on the side closer to Edgewater and go to four and three stories as it moves closer into the residential area of the neighborhood.

The property will include a parking garage with both parking for residents and the public. According to the article the developers will start the building out as apartments but hope to convert them into condos later on.

The building would consist of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units.

Residents will have an opportunity to learn about the project at a meeting next Monday at the College Park Baptist Church at 6:00 p.m.

  1. Join us at the meeting on Monday at College Park Baptist @ 6pm to voice your opinion.

  2. I respectfully disagree, Alison.

These apartment buildings look aesthetically pleasing and are going to replace several rundown structures.  Bringing more apartment dwellings to the business district of College Park will further help to solidify its economic base.

Winter Park has been adding density for years and it continues to be a model of successful main street planning.  I’m happy to see this beginning to take shape in College Park.

  3. Not against any multi family housing, just not crazy about new construction in a “historic” part of town.

  4. Curious are you against any sort of multi-family housing or you want a different aesthetic to the building?

  5. I disagree. I like the vintage aesthetic of college park and these new apartment buildings are just making the area look like every other neighborhood.
