It was just over a year ago that we wrote about the new Element by Westin.

At the time we were told the hotel would open July 2015.

While the Element website still shows July 2015 as the opening date, a spokesperson for the developer told Bungalower the construction for the hotel itself has not started but that they are weeks away from breaking ground.

The project is estimated to take 15 months to complete.

Pre-construction work for the hotel is happening and the mall is getting ready to open their bowling alley/arcade. Also on the mall’s property, construction of a Dick’s Sporting Goods and a BB&T Bank are underway.
