  1. Orlandofoodie right, because only one business has the right to serve a particular style of food.
tell that to the countless vietnamese/chinese/thai restaurants in Orlando.

  2. This place disgusts me. I walked in and immediately walked out when I saw the menu. Hawkers Asian Street FARE will always be the street food of choice in this neighborhood.
The owners should be ashamed of themselves for stealing someone’s hard work. Googled Alex Lo and this is what I found:

Speaks a lot about their business ethics. Should be arrested for ripping off another business.

  3. Mills50Guy lol @ lawsuits. this could be the dumbest comment i’ve seen lately. there’s a half dozen Vietnamese restaurants within the same 2 blocks, with identical menus. and decor. they even speak the same language!

but if Hawkers can’t take the competition (I don’t care for them personally), then sucks to be them

  4. So- I was excited for this place to open. Now I just hope they get sued and shut down immediately.
This menu is a 100% rip off of Hawkers. The item descriptions are verbatim, even the order and format of the items is an exact copy.
Even down to the sauces offered on the wings.
The only difference is Mamak has a slightly more extensive Fried Rice section.
Seriously, it would be one thing to copy a menu/style but then go higher or lower end (price wise) because then your food would stand on its own merit. But the pricing is exactly the same too.
They even stole the industrial interior theme!
    Bold. Very bold.

  5. Jon Kukor we will have to try this! Allegedly it is better than Hawkers. We will have to decide for ourselves!

  6. Exciting to have a hip restaurant on colonial near mills! Interior is awesome – food is like Hawkers, owner and staff were great when we went
