SunRail Service extended and new year

Last week we wrote about the Florida Department of Transportation testing an additional round-trip train for late-night service.

Today the City of Orlando and SunRail also announced free, but limited service on January 1, 2015.

The New Year’s Day service is being sponsored by Orlando Venues and Florida Citrus Sports as a way to get to the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl game.

This marks the first time extended SunRail services will be paid for by outside organizations.

The additional round-trip night service will be paid for by FDOT. A social media campaign to increase awareness of the service has begun using #NightTrain.
