As stated in the Mayor’s State of the City address, the City of Orlando will be getting a temporary pop-up dog park.

The pop-up park (or P.U.P. ) will be located at 319 N. Magnolia Ave., close to Sky House [Gmap], and is made possible through a partnership with PetSmart.

PetSmart opened its first portable community pop-up park in 2013 in Phoenix. The P.U.P consists of a shipping container that comes equipped with all of the ingredients necessary for a dog park; moveable benches, waste stations, ramps and more.

The 3,400 SF P.U.P. will be fully funded by PetSmart, and the City has a 3-year commitment from the private property owner to use the space.

The final design and timeline for the project are still in the works.

EDITOR’S NOTE: We have it on good authority, that this project was not inspired by the beguilingly simple pop-up dog park that we made for the latest One Less Car event.

  1. Awesome! Now hoping responsible dog owners are respectful and do NOT bring their sick dogs so all pups can enjoy.
