Five sculptures now adorn the lawn in front of the Orange County Administration Building, in downtown Orlando [Gmap].

The pieces were selected by the Orange County’s Public Art Review Board from 100 submissions by three dozen artists and are part of a temporary exhibit that will feature them for one year in the green space in front of the building.

The sculptures were rented with $20,000 of private donations.

Selected artists include Jacob Harmeling’s Micro Banyan from Orlando, Julia Ousley’s Skyline II from Dallas, Texas, Chris Scala’s Red Ladder from Orlando, Jonathan Schork from St. Petersburg’s For the Children of Astrios and Eos and a mone-month installation by Dale Wayne called Joy Horizon – Building Bridges.

The Wayne installation was constructed using more than 10,000 recycled water bottles, collected primarily by local school children.
