Crosswalks, curbs, pole banners, and flocks of flamingos will be descending on College Park this month as the College Park Partnership, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Commissioner Stuart, and Florida Hospital for Women launch project Pink Out, an initiative to raise funds for breast cancer screenings and awareness efforts.

Local restaurants will be serving pink desserts in solidarity with the cause.

  1. Can’t wait! Allure Dance is already pink and getting pink-er to celebrate and support. Love our neighborhood and College Park Partnership

  2. laflaneuse Also, reproductive health & women’s health do not mean the same thing. Men need PP services too!

  3. PedestrianError Wait, crap, had just changed my FB profile to #StandWithPP & realized it’s pink. Dammit. #pinkdoesnotequalwomen

  4. laflaneuse I’m really glad I have marginally big enough feet to opt for men’s products in all things shoe-related if needed.

  5. PedestrianError And flowers. Pink and flowery things. Try to buy women’s snowshoes or a sewing machine without those. Blech.

  6. laflaneuse Pink is used to pathologize womanhood itself, and to punish men who show any sign of being like women.

  7. laflaneuse & it’s part of the pinkification feedback loop that demands women overperform femininity as backlash for achieving basic rights.

  8. PedestrianError Gross. My uncle had breast cancer. Men can get it too. He hates all the pink. And it makes it seem like it’s just women.
