FDOT is in the process of signing a deal with Zipcar to make them the new vendor for the Central Florida Carshare Program.
According to FDOT PIO Jessica Keane, Zipcar (Website) was selected as the new vendor on September 14 but the contract will be finalized later this month. Once the contract is finalized, they expect a six-week window to relaunch the program with the new vendor.
The prior vendor, Hertz 24/7, put the breaks on its carshare services back in early September which forced FDOT to find a new partner. We wrote about that HERE.
Zipcar allows users to drive cars by the hour or day, including gas and insurance with memberships that start as low as $7 a month.
None. Zero dollar agreement.
