As the Mayor stated in his State of the City address, the City has invited proposals from private developers to redevelop properties in Parramore into a mixed-income development.
A five person selection advisory committee will review all submitted proposals, conduct interviews, and rank the proposals for the City Council and CRA before selection, based on public interest.
The redevelopment will be located in three properties in the northwest, southwest, and southeast corner of Parramore Avenue and Conley Street, on properties owned by the CRA and the City of Orlando, totaling 6.06 acres.
The City/CRA is looking for a developer to build a “high quality, mixed-income residential development … to increase the inventory of permanent supportive housing within the City of Orlando … as a catalyst for revitalization in Parramore.”
The formal solicitation, and the accompanying requirements, will be released on November 2, November 5, 2015.
Page 5 exhibit B shows the guidelines for affordable housing.
How affordable are these going to be? Orlando has been using that word a lot, and I do not think they know what it means.
I was just wondering about verbiage …
affordable housing is a key component to having a healthy, mixed-income, community with residents from all walks of life.
Section 8 to middle class!
It would be interesting to know who will sit on this five person selection advisory board. One would assume it will include people from the local community but that may be an incorrect assumption.
So mixed-income is the new affordable housing?
