We announced the partnership between Orlando, FDOT and Zipcar last October HERE following the closure of almost all Hertz 24/7 (or Hertz on Demand) car share programming across the nation.

Zipcar (Website) will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, February 3 to kickoff the launch of their new local car sharing service featuring Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, FDIT District 5 Director of Transportation Development Frank O’Dea, and Florida Market Manager Smokeshane West.

Officials will be sharing the makes and models of the cars at the ribbon cutting.

The event will be held at 307 Broadway Avenue [GMap] near Lake Eola at 10 a.m. on February 3.

Editor’s Note: Hertz still provides the service in New York/Hoboken.
