The City of Orlando has joined the recent wave of municipal governments to relax domestic marijuana regulations.

In Florida, police officers already have two options when confronting a suspect with 20 grams or less of marijuana – arrest, or confiscate the contraband and release the suspect with a warning. On Monday, April 15 the City Council will consider a new policy that gives a third option; a fine of just $50 for a violation of a City code, which is less harsh than an arrest.

The decision is still up to the given officer.
