The Thread is a column by Anna Christmas, a style consultant who recently moved back to Orlando, that looks at the who, what, and wear of Orlando’s fashion scene.

If you’re the type of person who appreciates a blast of fashion past, then it’s probably time for you to make your way to Retromended (Facebook | Website), which the fabulous Brandy Tezak opened just over four years ago.

Retromended is tucked away in a charming courtyard in Ivanhoe Village’s Ivanhoe Row, just south of Hammered Lamb on Orange Avenue [GMap]. The shop specializes in men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and even has a couple records for all you music lovers. Tezak is often inspired by local designers and is a big believer in supporting those artists, by carrying some of their items in her shop. She even hostsg trunk shows for them, always accompanied with tasty cocktails, because shopping.

Tezak has been featured in local and national press for her shop, impeccable taste and knowledge of the world of vintage. Shoppers can schedule a personal styling session with Tezak, just to make sure they’re buying the right statement pieces.

The key to wearing vintage is keeping it relevant with today’s trends and mixing it with your more contemporary wardrobe. Luckily for us the majority of the trends we’re seeing lately are vintage inspired, so it’s easier and easier to mix and match.
