We often get photographs from our Bungalower readers of things that are happening around town, and we have started featuring them on the site in a series called Eyes on the Street, in honor of our hero Jane Jacobs.

Tako Cheena (Facebook) is finally taking steps towards transitioning their first Mills 50 location into a Tako Cheena Express, with the recent opening of a service window in the back of the restaurant. Customers looking to pick up or take out their dinner can call ahead or order from the back window and avoid the hassle of ordering their Butter Chicken Burrito inside the notoriously busy space.

We first wrote about the transition HERE in July, 2015, when we revealed that the Mexican fusion restaurant would be opening a second location in the Forbidden City building, just up the street.

There is no word on when the Forbidden City location is expected to open, yet.

Editor’s Note: The Basement is adding a taco kitchen and window as well. More on that HERE.

  1. Right? I was thinking the same thing. It’s so gross behind that building. And why is it taking so long to open the new building and why isn’t the taco window there?Better yet, why didn’t they just make a drive through?
