UPDATE: Cookies and Milk with a Cop featuring OPD’s Chief Mina at the Orlando Public Library has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.

OPD Chief John Mina will be kicking off a new program at the Orange County Library in January called Cookies and Milk With a Cop.

The program was founded by an officer in the Winter Garden Police Department back in 2015 as a way to use arts and literature to begin conversations about safety and responsibility, and to create stronger bonds between residents and police officers.

Chief Mina’s event will be held on Saturday, January 14 at 11 a.m. No word yet on what he will be reading. Other officers will continue the program every second Saturday of every month for the rest of the year. The program is free to attend.
