Ivanhoe Village-based maker and tool-sharing space, Factur (Website | Facebook), has signed two leases with Crossman and Company which will add 4,500 SF of space to their Virginia Drive laboratory.

Factur is a member-driven fabrication space which gives members access to new technological equipment like laser cutters, desktop machine tools, and 3-D printers. Members also have access to knowledgeable volunteers who can teach them to use the equipment safely and effectively for their given projects.

The leases signed are for an office space at 511 Brookhaven Drive [GMap] and for a 3,000 SF warehouse located at 514 Virginia Drive [GMap]. The agreements cover use of the buildings for the next five years, after which they will be razed as part of the second phase of the Yard at Ivanhoe development. More on that HERE.

The new warehouse space will be used for a maker classroom, private event rentals, and overflow co-working space. Local artist John Vu of Vudoo Wood (Website) will be decorating the space with new up-cycled wood paneling and the space will also have A/V and presentation equipment available for member-use and special events.
