As reported by GrowthSpotter, Alliance Residential Company (Website) is hoping to purchase the Baldwin-Fairchild Chapel property in Ivanhoe Village, in order to build a new 10-story mixed-use development. Fairchild Chapel has the iconic blue neon sign on its roof, as seen HERE in the Orlando Weekly’s “27 Orlando historic landmarks that haven’t been destroyed yet” roundup.

Currently titled “Broadstone Lake House” the project calls for a 288-unit multi-family tower with 39,000 SF of street-level retail live/work office space.

Broadstone would be located at 301 N. Ivanhoe Boulevard [GMap] just on the other side of Orange Avenue from another large mixed-use project, The Yard at Ivanhoe, which we’ve written about previously, HERE.

The project was submitted to the City Planning offices on January 18, 2017, and has not been presented to City Council or any City Boards for official voting, at this time.

  1. Big developments are going up all around 434 & Maitland Blvd.. Any development plans in the making for Maitland Blvd/434 Southwest corner. It’s my neighborhood of 152, ’70’s homes. Realtors send us “we want to buy your house” letters all the time. ??? Brendan Bunting O’Connor

  2. MichaelRizzo I have to agree… for such an amazing, visible location… the design of this building could put you to sleep.

  3. When we toured their warehouse they kept reiterating how expensive it is to light them for any extended period of time. It would most likely need a rolodex of large sponsors and possibly a nod from OUC – The Reliable One to make it work. But we totally agree! http://bit.ly/2jnmaxb

  4. This reminds me, Morse Museum really needs to turn their neon sign warehouse into an actual museum.

  5. I’m not against density but Fairchild Chapel (or at least the sign) is kind of icon in that area. I don’t guess they’d be up for some mixed use Apartment / Funeral Home…
