PROMO: Credo Conduit, the newish co-working arm of the pay-what-you-can coffee shop franchise Downtown Credo, has found a new home at 1001 N. Orange Avenue in the North Quarter [GMap].

The mission of Credo Conduit is to “cultivate a network of meaning, impact, and community.” Under the helm of Downtown Credo’s owner, Ben Hoyer, along with local coding entrepreneur Kyle Christian Steele, over 20 local companies have been working and collaborating together under the Conduit banner.

The Conduit co-working venture began in 2016 as part of a one-year cross-disciplinary prototype co-working space at Florida Hospital, in partnership with the Florida Hospital Innovation Lab, with the idea that they could move the concept to a warehouse nearby once the template and programming had been refined. The idea was ultimately tossed out by the hospital when they decided to pursue something else, on their own. More on that HERE.

The displaced co-working project managed to catch the attention of Ed Haddock, Co-Chairman and CEO of Full Sail University and the founder of SunGate Capital, who was looking for new ways to connect with local innovators and refresh one of his properties. As of January 31, SunGate has officially opened the former home of the Evans Group to the Credo Conduit collective to operate out of.

The space still has some restoration work to be done but companies are already moving in. There are three different tiers of membership available; shared desk, dedicated desk, and tiny houses. Parking is free. For more information on membership structure and fees, click HERE.

The building was designed by Donald F. Evans in 1998 and features a Munchkin City-type Main Street and a number of gabled houses that function as offices. Bungalower took a tour of the space, which was once the subject of an episode of Extreme Workplaces, which you can watch below. 1. Good for them! I could have told them Florida Hospital would not last. I worked there for 17 years and was always looking for another meeting room. I rolled my eyes when they said it would be a co op space.
