See Art Orlando (Website) is a 501 c3 non-profit organization that funded a series of outdoor public sculptures around the perimeter of Lake Eola. One of those sculptures, The Muse, is getting a face lift.

The Muse was created by Indiana-based artist, Meg White, and depicts a woman resting on her side, one hand open with palm facing the sky, the other under her cheek. It originally was framed by ornamental grasses and sod but the plantings were quickly ruined by people interacting with the art, which is its purpose.

The City then planted hedges, but they too were destroyed. Now it will feature a layer of AstroTurf, in the hopes that it will hold up better to the constant traffic.
