Visit Orlando will attempt to develop a signature dish for Orlando, in partnership with a curated team of local chefs.
The announcement was made during Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs’ State of the County address, April 7 at I-Drive 360.
Jacobs cited food-city pairings like Fish ‘n’ Chips in London, or Philly Cheesesteak in Philadelphia, as a missing piece in Orlando’s international marketing strategy. The Mayor has established a task-force comprised of local foodies, chefs, and food experts to find the perfect dish that sums up Orlando.
Editor’s Note: It’s interesting to note, that even though the food Jacobs mentions are mostly street food, the bulk of people at the table in her task-force (at least pictured in the video) are from brick and mortar establishments. We’ve been told by task-force members that they will be reaching out for more participants in the coming weeks.

Sandwich and alcohol pairing, maybe a we need a city drink. Curry.
It’s got to be gator right? Like Orlando BBQ Gator sandwich, or something to that effect.
I’d eat it!
