UPDATE: April 27, 2016  – LAKE ALERT ISSUED FOR LAKE LAWNE – LIFTED

A Lake Alert has been issued for Lawne Lake [GMap].

A blockage in a sanitary line has resulted in approximately 800 gallons of sanitary waste being discharged into the lake. City Water Reclamation crews managed to remove the blockage and recover 300 gallons of waste from a canal, before it reached the lake.

As a result, City Stormwater personnel will be monitoring water quality for an increase in fecal coliform counts. Once levels have reached “acceptable State water quality standards” the alert will be lifted.

The City advises that all water contact activities cease until further notice.

Call the Lake Alert number, 407.246.2220, for the most up-to-date information.
