UPDATE: The deadline for submissions has been extended to June 30, 2017

The City of Orlando is accepting conceptual renderings for a bronze relief sculpture, to be installed on the front wall of the new Fire Station 2 building in the Parramore District.

The chosen Pride of Parramore design should reflect the surrounding community and history of Station 2. The wall is five feet high and eight feet wide.

The Public Art Advisory Board will make the final recommendation on a selected artist, to the City. The artist should be disciplined in sculpting and have a professional knowledge of bronze technique.

Artwork submissions should include plans for mounting the art; whether that be stand-off mount, bracket or suspension.

There is a $22,500 budget for the project with an Artist Honorarium of $2,500.

Interested artists should submit the following to City of Orlando Public Art Coordinator Keith Beasley at [email protected], with the following information:

  • Bio or resume of the artist including where they are from and discipline.
  • A minimum of two drafts of artwork in JPG format (small files).  Artworks should be related to the thematic title “Pride of Parramore.”
  • Brief description of the plan with timeline and Foundry’s timeline for completion and installation.

Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, May 31st.
