Popular Wynwood-based restaurant, Ono Poke Shop (Facebook | Website)  is opening a location in Downtown Orlando.

The location will take up half of the footprint that Red Mug Diner (Facebook | Website) previously occupied on Pine Street [GMap]. The two will share a prep kitchen in the back.

Poke is a type of Hawaiian salad featuring raw fish like octopus or tuna. Romi Mawardi, of Team Market Group, informed Bungalower that the concept is meant for guests looking for quick, healthy, grab-and-go options, and that the set-up will mirror that of Chipotle, in that you can choose your own ingredients for your dish before checking out.

Ono Poke Shop is expected to open by the end of the summer.

  1. Hey guys. Is this still on? It looks like Red Mug has shuttered and this place isn’t making much progress.

    1. It’s owned by the same people behind Red Mug. They’re waiting to see if someone will put an offer on both spaces or just the half that is Red Mug … we’ll have to wait and see what happens!

  2. Yes! Man the food scene within walking distance of the center of DT is lacking, this will be a super welcome addition.
