From Orlando with Love: Page 15’s Annual Book Release Party
Come celebrate the release of Page 15’s 5th annual anthology of high school writing, “From Orlando with Love.” Nearly 200 high schoolers submitted works of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Fifteen finalists were selected and paired with a local artist that created one unique piece inspired by the writing to be published alongside each students work, resulting in a collaborative book representative of Orlando’s diverse creative community.
Retro Game Night Spring Edition
Players, gamers, and lovers of vintage fun are invited to join us for the winter edition of Retro Game Night at the History Center on Friday, May 12, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Play old-school games like Parcheesi, Pictionary, Chinese checkers, Clue, Battleship, Candy Land, Mystery Date, Scrabble and Twister, plus retro video games and giant versions of Jenga and Connect Four. Trivia Nick will be on hand for multiple sessions of pop-culture trivia.

Baby Owl Shower
Each year Audubon Center for Birds of Prey hosts the Baby Owl Shower to help support clinical programs during our busiest season. We ask for in kind donations in lieu of admission. Fun for the whole family, the Center hosts special conservation themed activities and up-close and personal visits with the Center’s Educational Ambassador birds. Visitors will be able to view non-releasable orphaned raptors (birds of prey) being raised at the Center that are available.
Taste of Soul – Soul Food Festival
A family fest of sights, sounds and tastes of the African-American and other diverse cultures of Soul Food Cooking. Taste of Soul will feature vendors and family activities as well as lots of music Food Vendors.

6th Annual Kidsfest
Kidsfest is the day when the Audubon Park Garden District gets turned into a mini kids campus for the day. Sign up for free or nearly free workshops on arts and crafts, food, music, sustainability and more. Kids of all ages welcome. Highways and byways, two wheel, saddle rockin, engine roarin, running on fumes, Ural pushin’ wild child. We are calling you. Mark your calendars! Come join the Sideshow at Standard Motorcycle Co. May 13th! It’s becoming a staple in local Orlando DIY eclectic community, the Standard Side Show. Once a quarter we block off the streets at our facility and open things up for a day of fun in the sun with motorcycles, good times and great vibes.

It’s a Sneak Peek Studio Party at McRae Art Studios’ (mcraeartstudios.com) new location in Orlando. Most of our studios are still half-dressed, but we can’t wait to show them off. The wait is over. For one night only, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band perform as a part of the I Don’t Know Tour 2017 at Orlando’s Amway Center on Saturday, May 13. Parrotheads won’t want to miss their chance to soak in the full Margaritaville experience. This year’s tour celebrates Buffett’s 42nd touring season. The popularity of his trademark Key West and laid back atmosphere at his live shows gained a devoted following of fans, called Parrotheads.
