UPDATE: We were originally informed by Difrawi that DMS Group would be moving into this space. In fact, the location will be branded as “Xpand Labs” and will operate outside of the DMS Group. Xpand’s Managing Director, Chris Young, informed Bungalower that the space will be “available to the Orlando technology community” and will host Friday happy hour socials with free hotdogs and beer, and free high-speed WiFi, for local tech professionals.
The former home of Urban ReThink, the first co-working space in Orlando, has been leased to design agency, DMS Group Xpand Labs (Website).
Xpand Labs currently manages a collective of companies, include MyJobList, Industry Magazine, Moxie Media, Boss Ranking, SOS Team, and Employment Select.
Alec Difrawi, a consultant for DMS, told Bungalower that the space, located at 625 E. Central [GMap], should be fully operational by July 3.
Urban ReThink closed in September, 2013, which we wrote about HERE. A brief pop-up bookstore hosted by local publisher Burrow Press last spring had people whispering about some sort of revamp of its former use, which was obviously off-the-mark.
