SPONSORED: A pop-up art show that transforms trash into art will be installed at the SoDo Shopping Center from June 16-25.

Recycle Art Show is an immersive exhibit that will showcase works by local artists who have made their work using recycled items like cardboard, plastic, paper, cans, and bottles, in two empty storefronts in the SoDo Shopping Center. Guests can enjoy interactive art installations, photo ops, and a variety of activities for all ages.

Events planned for the two-week exhibit include:

  • Opening Night Party – 7-10 p.m. Friday, June 16. $5 entry with music provided by DJ Bonilla, cash bar by Will’s Pub, Trash 2 Trends fashion models, and a performance by a local break-dancing troupe.
  • Building Camp for Young Artists – Noon-3 p.m. Saturday, June 17 and Saturday, June 24. Create something amazing with local groups like ArtReach Orlando that will be on display during the show.
  • Recycle Gives Back Night – 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 22. $5 entry, with proceeds going towards three different charities; A Gift For Teaching, The Zebra Coalition, and Lovey Loaves Animal Rescue.

Recycle Art Show is presented by Denna Beena of Pink Hair Productions and Linda Janssen, who have also worked on Orlando Weekly‘s Artlando event, Spooky Empire, and the CityArts Factory Dia de Los Muertos and Monster Factory.
