PAWS on the Plaza | Pet Adoption Fair
Orange County Animal Services will provide the opportunity to adopt a rescue dog or cat. Paws on the Plaza is a great family event and coincides with Dr. Phillips Center’s regular Food Truck Fridays.
Artist Chat and Closing Reception
The current exhibit showcases a group of some of Orlando’s experienced and young artists. We invite you to join us in a celebration and discussion of art on Friday evening between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Reception starts at 5:30 p.m. with the discussion kicking off at 6:30 p.m. Beverages will be available for purchase.
The Road to Damascus
Jacoub Reyes’ debut solo show, The Road to Damascus, is a compilation of prints and drawings made from 2013-2017 chronicling the development of commonalities between religions and humanity. Here Reyes develops vision from folk stories and imagery to create a body of work saturated in iconography and winds of iconoclastic undertones.

Gather + Love Orlando
Join us this Saturday morning for a casual gathering to celebrate life and love in Orlando while we honor Orlando’s beautiful 49 souls. The first 200 guests will receive a special Pulse Tribute t-shirt. ArtReach Orlando will be on-hand to help you tie-dye your new tees, you’ll also all be adding your mark on a special Orlando mural by Local Love Orlando, and Hannah Zuk will be leading a short meditation break at 10 a.m.
African American Family History Festival
Celebrate your history and heritage at the African American Family History Festival. Library staff, EPOCH, the African American Historical & Genealogical Society, and Wells Built Museum will share resources and services.

Saturday Matinee Classics: Black Orpheus
Young lovers Orfeu (Breno Mello) and Eurydice (Marpessa Dawn) run through the favelas of Rio during Carnaval, on the lam from a hitman dressed like Death (Ademar Da Silva) and Orfeu’s vengeful fiancée Mira (Lourdes de Oliveira) and passing between moments of fantasy and stark reality. This impressionistic retelling of the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice introduced bossa nova to the world with its soundtrack by young Brazilian composers Luiz Bonfá and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Community Briefing on Sabal Trail Pipeline
Folks who recorded violations will show pictures and speak about what they saw. If you are interested in learning about the pipeline process and its impact on our local community, please join us. CeCe Scofield from Martin County will be there to speak about Liquified Natural Gas and the rails.
Pop Up Dinner
Are you a beer aficionado? a craft beer connoisseur? Then come to Ivanhoe Village on Saturday night for a few brews and a delicious Peruvian menu. GB’s Bottle Shop and Tasting Bar is a unique beer and wine retail and bar experience. Juneteenth: Remembering Rosewood
In 1923, a white mob stormed the small, prosperous African American community of Rosewood, near Florida’s Gulf Coast. Fueled by racial resentment, the mob terrorized the black residents, before burning the town to the ground. Retired educator Lizzie PRB Jenkins tells the story of Rosewood, FL where her aunt, Mahulda Gussie Brown Carrier, survived that violent night in January 1923. Presented in partnership with Crealde’s Hannibal Square Heritage Center.
Kadence Sunday Night Sushi Pop-Up
The Kappo/Kadence crew will host a recurring Sunday night sushi pop-up for the next three weeks at Redlight Redlight. They’ll be setting up a small standing sushi bar inside Redlight at 5:30 p.m. each Sunday; rolls will be first-come first-serve, six people at a time until they’re all sold out! As of now, the menu will consist of 10 piece sushi omakase, 5 piece sushi selection, and chirashi.
The Dru Project Pulse Anniversary Fundraiser
Celebrate the brilliant and far-too-short life of Drew Leinonen and witness the giving away of the Dru Project’s first $1000 scholarship. There is a suggested donation at the door, which will get you a TDP swag bag! Inside of the bag may be a door prize / rainbow ticket, indicating that you won one of many donated items.
Chefs Collab Dinner with Pizza Bruno at Ravenous Pig
Fresh off an Orlando Magazine “Best Neighborhood Restaurant” award for his popular Orlando eatery Pizza Bruno, Chef Bruno Zacchini, a Swine Family alum, will return to The Ravenous Pig for a one-night-only Italian-themed collaboration dinner with our very own Chef Nick Sierputowski on Sunday, June 11. The evening kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with a complimentary cocktail reception along with an amuse-bouche from each chef. The four-course dinner is $65 per person (plus tax and gratuity).
Dogs in Reverse
From the mind of Lakeland’s own Daniel Mattioli, who also spurs the heartbeat of experimental drone and noise-rock band Derridada, comes “noise, drones and experimental sound music.” An inventive and engaging artistic adventure.
