Mayor Buddy Dyer declared on May 16, that the City would remove a Confederate statue from Lake Eola Park, in favor of placing it in “a more appropriate location” at Greenwood Cemetery.
Greenwood Cemetery (Facebook | Website) is Orlando’s only urban cemetery and is owned by the City. It is located by the Orlando Urban Wetlands [GMap] and was created in the 1880’s by local residents who pooled their money together to purchase 26-acres from John W. Anderson.

The cemetery hosts a Confederate veterans section in the southeastern corner of the property. The following photos are of the existing memorials near where the Eola Confederate statue is likely to be moved.
