Scott Joseph has reported that PR’s Taco Palace has closed.

The owner, Perry Inman, told Joseph that the reason behind closing the 30-year restaurant was rooted in lack of parking, among other things.

The Tex-Mex-themed restaurant was located at 499 W. Fairbanks Avenue [GMap], on a crowded nacho-shaped piece of land bordered by Fairbanks to the south and train tracks to the immediate north.

PR’s cut back their hours in May for the summer months, and were closed for Father’s Day.

  1. You guys just don’t get it. You can write you name on the walls. And the food is delicious. The chicken diablo is amazing, spicy and the beans were tasty too. The new location in College Park is the delicious.

  2. Never understood the appeal of why a truly filthy establishment with utterly mediocre food ever caught on. The rat problem sealed the deal for me long ago. And if one is kept up that way, no way would I try another location. Give me Black Rooster or Tako Chena any day.

  3. This place was so filthy! I had a rat run across my table the last and final time I visited PR’s. If you looked around, there were rodent droppings everywhere! This place should have been shut down long ago!
