The public seating in front of the Lake Eola Bandshell is getting redone over the next six weeks.

The project will remove approximately 10 sycamore trees that are currently interspersed among the benches. City spokesperson, Cassandra Lafster, told Bungalower that while some of the trees were unhealthy, most of them were obstructing the view of the bandstand and pushing up the pavers with their roots.

Once the trees are removed, more seating will be installed in their place and the bricks will be leveled out.

This work is not in response to plans made by Project DTO in 2014, that called for changes in the orientation of the Lake Eola amphitheater. More on that, HERE.

Shade enhancements and other improvements will be considered at a later date.
