Pop-up dinner event company, the Dinner Party Project (Website), has partnered with local ceramics artist LeAnn Siefferman, on a series of dinners where people will share a meal and ideas on topics not often discussed around the dinner table.

The new six-month series will address six topics, with each dinner representing a different conversation: Mental Health, Homelessness, A Changing Climate, Race and Privilege, Aging and Staying Engaged, and Gender & Identity. Professional facilitators from the Peace and Justice Institute at Valencia College and select community leaders will moderate each Making Conversations dinner. Making Conversations: Mental Health was held on Thursday, June 29, and sold out days in advance.

The dinnerware for each event was created by Siefferman (Instagram), who works out of the City of Orlando Pottery Studio in Parramore, and features custom designs meant to instigate conversation.

Making Conversations events are to be held at 6:30 p.m. at 1010 West Church Street [GMap] on July 27, August 31, September 28, October 26, and November 16.

Tickets are $75 per person, which includes Tito’s cocktails, a four-course meal paired with wine, followed by Credo coffee.  A portion of the proceeds collected from ticket sales will be donated to a local charity.
