Red Lion Pub closed in September 2016 after 27 years of business.
The bar, which was located at 3784 Howell Branch Road in Winter Park [GMap], was known for a robust selection of live music and diverse events and had a loyal group of patrons. It was owned by Rosemarie Ryan and her son Christian, who ran the space as a home for Orlando’s budding underground arts scene.
Enchanted Forge (Website), led by UCF graduate Andrew Boyd, documented the final days of the pub/Island of Misfit Toys in a documentary called Lionhearted which is now available to stream on Amazon Prime.
The premiere party was held on June 6 at Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts.
