LYNX is launching their first all-electric bus into the streets of Downtown Orlando this Friday, August 18 at 9:30 a.m.

The launch is part of a pilot project to explore the use of zero-emissions vehicles for the entire Downtown fleet of LYMMO buses.

Three different all-electric buses will be tested during the pilot project, on all LYMMO bus line routes to evaluate their range, charging times, noise reduction, and rider experience.

LYNX currently has a fleet of over 313 buses, 243 of which use Biodiesel. The remaining 70 buses use a form of compressed natural gas.

Friday’s launch event will take place at City Hall Plaza, 400 S. Orange Avenue [GMap].
