The City of Orlando is looking to fill a temporary Horse Groom position.

The employee is responsible for the care, feeding, grooming, and cleaning of the horses used for mounted patrol. They are also in charge of cleaning the horse stalls and equipment used with the horses.

Work is performed under the supervision of an Orlando Police Supervisor.

This is a physically demanding position.

A regular work schedule is 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with rotating days; including some weekends and holidays. This is subject to change depending on demands from the OPD.

Applicants must be literate and able to follow instructions and experienced in the care, feeding, and grooming of horses. A high school diploma is desired. Employees must pass a polygraph examination and be drug-free for a minimum of one year.

Starting salary is $12.31 to $15 an hour, depending on qualifications.
