Steelbridge 20 North LLC has filed paperwork with the City to install a retail canopy along the facade of 20 N. Orange Avenue [GMap].

The facade would feature a synthetic wood rain screen for ground-floor retail signage; meaning, new pedestrian-friendly retail on that stretch of Orange Avenue. The canopy would be placed in two separate bays that extend roughly five-feet from the main building.

The applicant would need a Major Certificate of Appropriateness in order to install the canopy as it is located in the Downtown Historic District.

This item will go before the Historic Preservation Board on September 6 and is recommended for approval by City staff.

Editor’s Note: Another item up for review is the addition of new high rise signage on the same building, as shown below.

  1. Why did they get rid of the scrolling ticker and tv screens???? That was one of the few things that actually made the core feel like a big city
