From Mama B’s to Foxtail Coffee Co.

The former home of Mama B’s Giant Subs in the SoDo District will soon be the home to one more Foxtail Coffee location.

The sub shop building was purchased by Upshot Capital, the same company that purchased the WDBO building in Ivanhoe Village. They’re currently in talks with the City of Orlando concerning the contaminated soil beneath the building, left over from its time spent as a gas station. In order for them to take advantage of state-led funding, they need the City to declare the site an actual brownfield, a conversation that was slated to happen at the October 9 City Council meeting.

This process could delay the new coffee house, which is why a formal timeline has yet to be announced.
