As we noted in May, HERE, the CRA/DDB had initiated a Request for Proposals for the position of their Downtown Orlando Farmers Market Manager.

The contract has been awarded to Red Top Productions (now RTP Corporation), which has been running the market for the past decade. Reasons given by the advisory committee handling the RFP were long-term capacity issues and use of City staff by some of the new companies looking to pitch and they were more comfortable working with a vendor that already has working knowledge of the market.

The committee was looking to put more strategies in place with RTP Corp to push a new marketing plan and vendor onboarding process.

The Downtown Development Board receives weekly access to Lake Eola Park, for no charge. The City’s Families, Parks and Recreation Department waves the fees associated with using the park each fiscal year. The estimated cost for 2016-2017 was $118,000. More on that HERE.
