Apopka native Roger Floyd will appear on this Friday’s episode of MacGyver playing the head of a black market stolen art ring — “…not a very pleasant chap,” according to Floyd. The episode, “Packing Peanuts + Fire,” will air 8 p.m. on CBS Television Network.

Floyd moved to Atlanta a year ago following the trend of many Orlando-based actors who are moving there to be closer to the work. Georgia offers tax incentives to the film and television industry, Florida does not.  According to Adweek, productions in Georgia — which include mega hits Stranger Things and The Walking Dead — generated an economic impact of $7.2 billion during fiscal year 2016.

Floyd has previously been seen on the boob tube in Graceland, Nashville, Constantine, and Under the Dome based on the Stephen King novel, among others. Locals may have seen Floyd onstage in Tragic Prometheus (which he wrote), A Midnight Snack with Tom & Vincent (Orlando Fringe, 2007), and as Prospero in The Tempest for Valencia College.

Floyd is represented by Brevard Talent.
