OUC will be installing a number of pedestrian lights around the Park of the Americas dog park and visitor area located at 201 Andes Avenue [GMap].

The utility company will be relocating 39 lights from Parramore Heritage Park to Park of the Americas from the entrance to around the soon-to-be expanded park area around the existing retention pond.

The total estimated cost of the new lighting is $110,621.57.

The park will still continue to close 30 minutes prior to sunset, after which the main gate will be locked. The new lighting is not meant to allow late-night access to the dog park but rather to improve the sight-lines for nighttime surveillance of the park.
