UPDATE: Central Avenue should reopen by 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 5
We often get photographs from our Bungalower readers of things that are happening around town so we feature them on the site in a series called Eyes on the Street, in honor of our hero Jane Jacobs.
“On a positive note, Central Blvd will be opening up from Division to Terry very soon. The sidewalks have been widened which is a plus, but they forgot to add in bike lanes! Sooo many people ride bikes to the soccer games too.” – Seiji Schoppert
Schoppert was correct in his statement and the section of Central Boulevard that runs through Parramore will soon be re-opened to the public.
The West Central Boulevard Sanitary Sewer and Streetscape Construction Project (deep breath) was a two-part effort to rebuilt the roadway between Lee and Terry Avenues, including – upgraded traffic signals, sidewalk improvements, more lighting, and landscaping.
According to City staff, the stretch of road is expected to open in mid-December but a concrete date is yet to be released.
Hahahaha – “concrete date” – well played. 😉
