We first wrote about the upcoming 8-acre Grills Family Restaurant (Facebook Website) project in July, 2015 HERE and then again in 2016 HERE. Now, according to the restaurant team, they are preparing to finally open in the first week of January, 2018.

Grills Lakeside will be a massive waterfront restaurant on the western shores of Lake Fairview, at 4301 N. Orange Blossom Trail [GMap].

That tentative opening window of Grills Lakeside hinges on how construction and staff training carries out over the next month, but we’ve been assured that the new waterfront restaurant will open sometime between January 2-8.

This will be the third location for the Grills franchise, with the other two being located in Melbourne and Port Canaveral. The owners opened the first location after 15 years in the commercial fishing business.

Grills Lakeside will have the same menu as its predecessors and focus on a selection of seafood dishes, sushi, chowders, kabobs, and salads, as well as regular pub fare. Click HERE to see their full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  They also have a whole menu devoted to Pacific Lion Fish, a particularly tasty invasive fish. Many sustainability efforts on the coast promote eating the fish as a way to control its numbers in Florida waters.

Scroll down to see how the construction work is progressing. The main structure is almost finished as well as the outdoor seating area. From what we could see on a recent site visit, the boardwalk is still being built but is coming along nicely.
