The Orlando Science Center (Website) is looking for a local artist to make a permanent exhibition piece called Love Reshaped that would be comprised of origami pieces from a former installation.

The new installation must make use of the 1300 origami hearts that were part of the OSC’s Love Bridge installation in response to Pulse nightclub shooting. Each heart was created by a Science Center guest and contain handwritten messages inside of them responding to the question, “What does love mean to you?”

The hearts measure 3 5/8 inches by 3 7/8 inches and come in the full ROY G BIV spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet).

Submissions will be juried in January, 2018 with the selected artist being notified in February 2, 2018. Installation of the final piece is scheduled for March, 2018.

There is a $1,200 budget for the project which includes the artist honorarium.
