EDIT: Fleet Farming is a program that operates under the non-profit IDEAS For Us and not a separate non-profit as we posted earlier.

The local pedal-powered Fleet Farming (Website) has recently announced that they will be expanding their yard-farming services into the Parramore neighborhood.

The move is part of a a movement by the City and a number of local organizations to increase the access to fresh food in the downtown district. This program will convert lawns into farms, engage locals in free educational “Swarm Ride” events, and provide produce to the new S.N.A.P. Certified Parramore Farmer’s Market which recently launched on January 6th, 2018 – watch our brief video tour on our Instagram HERE.

Fleet Farming is currently looking to sign up Parramore residents who would like to become farmlette hosts by donating a portion their lawn to our program in exchange for a sharecropped 10% of the annual harvest.

The first Fleet Farming Swarm Ride will take place in West Orlando on February 3 at 2 p.m., beginning at Kaley Square Community Center, 1030 W Kaley Avenue [GMap].
