UPDATE: Sticky Rice has cut back on the opening date celebrations to just February 6.

Lao restaurant Sticky Rice (Facebook) soft opened in late December and is now ready for a grand opening on February 6.

Bot of the co-owners/co-chefs Marshall Phanthachit and Kevin Phanhvilay are Laotian and
have a combined 15+ years in the industry.

As a crash course on Lao food, we thought we’d share this blurb we received in a press release earlier today, “Lao food distinctly has its own flavor with the help of staple ingredients like galangal (closely related to ginger), padaek (traditional Lao condiment made from pickled or fermented fish that has been cured), kaffir lime, and of course the Lao signature dish, sticky rice, which is uniquely Lao, present at almost every meal, and meant to be eaten with your hands.”
