The City of Orlando Fire Department is giving away free smoke alarms right now, in response to a deadly home fire on South Street earlier this week. More on that HERE.

City residents can fill out a form HERE to receive their alarm on a first-come, first-serve basis. At the moment, the program is experiencing a high-volume of requests so there is a four to six-week wait list. As such, choose a date that is at least a month in advance.

According to a recent study, at least five million homes in the country don’t have smoke alarms. Homes with an alarm cut a person’s chance of dying by a reported fire in half.
