After almost a year of operating in Mills 50, Brooklyn Coffee Shop (Facebook) has closed.

The owner, Brazlian-born Daniel Carvalho, told Bungalower that his investor pulled out of their partnership and that operating the space was too much for him to continue doing all by himself.

The shop opened in the former Funky Monkey/Restaurant Ash space at 912 N. Mills Avenue [GMap] in June, 2017. More on that HERE.

Building owner, Eddie Nickell, will be opening a new concept in the space called Bites and Bubbles (Facebook | Website). The construction is already underway with the space being completely gutted and will feature a new bar, flooring, kitchen, bathroom, and exterior paint job (champagne-colored of course).

Bites and Bubbles will focus primarily on champagne and caviar, serving 50 different types of champagne and ten draft beers. They’ll also be serving “decadent desserts” as well as salmon, hen and dumplings, steak, and oysters; which will be half-priced after 10 p.m. (the oysters, not the cheesecake or steak). Bites and Bubbles will be open from 4 p.m.-midnight every evening and they’re expected to open for business by the end of April.

  1. Is it me, or is there only 2 parking spaces for that place? That’s a large reason why it keeps failing in my opinion. It doesn’t have a parking lot.
