As first reported HERE by the Orlando Weekly, Tako Cheena has announced that they will be opening a new location in Stonewall Bar, just across the street from the Orlando City Soccer Stadium at 741 W. Church Street [GMap].

The manager of the Parramore-based gay gay club, Taylor Bulloch, told Bungalower that the Asian/Mexican fusion chain will be taking over their kitchen, which has been largely unused since the owner transitioned the space into a bar; it was a single-story restaurant for years prior to becoming the popular watering hole it is today.

Tako Cheena will launch with limited lunch and late afternoon hours in the near future with expanded weekend and evening hours in the months to follow. An opening date has not been announced.

No word on how this affects the long-promised second Tako Cheena location in the former Forbidden City building.

In other news Stonewall Bar’s owner, Steven Watkins, has moved to South Florida and left the operations of the venue in the hands of Taylor Bulloch.
