The “story of Thornton Park” is now officially on display on select walls of the Thornton Park Central parking garage.

Earlier this year, Thornton Park Main Street District (Website) sent out a call to artists to participate in the project asking them to answer the question, “What does Thornton Park mean to you?” We wrote about it HERE. Submissions were received last month and finalists hand selected by Main Street’s Design Committee. A comprehensive list of the winners has yet to be released but we will update this post once we’ve received it.

Parking patrons can currently enjoy seven different installations featuring works by local artists within the lower level of the garage. Themes within the murals include the ever-popular swans, dogs, and “local love.” All pieces include the shared expression of boundless color.

For those looking to pop in and capture the fresh art, 30-minute parking is available at no cost and the garage is located at 120 N. Eola Drive [GMap].
