The Downtown Arts District hosted an exhibition of a donated collection of modern art, gifted by the Walt Disney World.

Over 50 pieces of art, created by 27 artists, were given to the Downtown Arts District in the hopes of them auctioning them off to support their mission of promoting and fostering the arts in Downtown Orlando.

The collection was purchased by the estate of Russell A. Glotfelty and James Sandidge of Winter Park who will be loaning the collection to the newly opened AXIOM Gallery, which we’ve written about previously HERE. Events and showcase dates are yet to be announced.

Half of the profits from the sale were added to the DAD’s endowment and the other half will go to operational reserves. The collection was valued at $67,540 but the final sales price has not been released.
