Colonial Lanes (Website) announced last week on their Facebook page that they will be closing their Milk District bowling alley on Thursday, May 24.

The building sold to Titan Properties in February, which had previously filed to turn the property, located at 400 N. Primrose Drive [GMap], into a self-storage facility. We broke the story about the filed paperwork HERE in August 2017. Despite the municipal paper trail, Colonial Lanes management told Orlando Sentinethat no concrete plans were in the works for the building.

A request by community members to deny a possible self-storage facility on the property was denied by City Hall last year. The plans were recommended for approval by the Municipal Planning Board in November 2017.

Rumors abound on some sort of bowling alley component being included in the plans for the storage center or whatever will be replacing the alley, but nothing official has been announced at this time.
