The Orlando Ballet has named Oklahoma City Ballet’s Shane Jewell as their new Executive Director.
Jewell comes to Orlando with 14 years of experience in managing performing arts organizations, taking the reins from Jonathan Ledden, Orlando Ballet’s board president, who has been serving as interim director since this past October.
Besides his experience with managing ballet companies, Jewell is bringing first-hand knowledge of what it takes to lead a campaign for a new facility, something he just accomplished for his previous company in Oklahoma City.
“We have made great progress on the Long Range Plan we introduced last November,” said Ledden, “but our funding base is still heavily concentrated amongst a relatively small and wonderful group of passionate supporters. Growing that base as Orlando grows is a key priority.”
